Process

1. Injection Moulding (PET preforms) :
PET is a hygroscopic material which has to be dried before going through the manufacturing process.

After being dehumidified, the granulated PET is laminated in the cylinder at a temperature close to 285°C.

Once it has been completely laminated, the PET in amorphous state is injected into the mold through an injection nozzle.

The preforms are cooled in the mold according to the set cycle time while a robot will retrieve the pieces and deposit them in a mutli-station cooler before bringing them to the packaging unit.

2. Compression molding (caps) :

Compression molding is a worldwide well known technolgy used to produce more than 65% of the world production of caps. Undoubtedly compression molding has several advantages over other molding processes being one of the lowest cost options and offering better quality.

During an uninterrupted work cycle, an extruder laminates the material and sends it to a hydraulic rotary press before it is cut into accurately calibrated doses. These doses are then introduced into moulds closed by a hydraulic system at a set pressure.

The closure systems (caps) solidify in a few tenths of a second and instantly cool before they are sent to a conveyor for packaging.

Depending on the applications, the caps can be routed to another rotary press to lay a seal.
